* Small Group Facilitator Skills that you have or are willing to learn and develop:

  • Can build relationships with others.
  • Set the example for others as a facilitator.
  • Support others in finding their own solutions.
  • Support group members as they develop their own servant leadership skills.
  • Help support members as they discover their spiritual gifts.
  • Help build trust and community in their groups.
  • Enable members to connect with each other and grow in relationship with Christ.
  • Enable members to share their feelings and to truly care for each other.
  • Welcome others into the group.
  • Give the group the responsibility to set and achieve goals.
  • Promote open and honest communication.
  • Coach and mentor members on how to revolve conflicts so that they and the group
    can learn and grow from the experience.

Fundamentals of Group Meetings:

  1. Covenanting as a group. This will also include confidentiality with in the group.
  2. Opening and closing in prayer.
  3. Spiritual component: to encourage connecting with others and Christ and growth as
    an individual and as a group in Christ.
